Strike, the popular Bitcoin and Lightning Network payment app, has now expanded its services to the United Kingdom. This move allows eligible individuals and businesses in the UK to easily buy, sell, send, withdraw, and make global payments using Bitcoin.

The launch in the UK follows Strike's successful rollout across Europe and its growing global presence, now operating in over 100 countries and territories worldwide. Strike's CEO, Jack Mallers, sees the UK's large population and status as the sixth-largest global economy as significant opportunities for Bitcoin adoption.

Ability to sell Bitcoin and withdraw to bank accounts or self-custodial wallets.

One of Strike's standout features is its use of the Lightning Network, a second-layer solution built on top of the Bitcoin blockchain. This enables fast and cost-effective micropayments, addressing some of the scalability issues associated with traditional Bitcoin transactions. All Strike customers receive a Lightning Address to simplify the process of receiving payments.

To comply with UK regulations, Strike has implemented additional steps in the signup process.
