A recent survey by Grayscale reveals that American voters are increasingly turning to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies due to growing concerns about geopolitical tensions and inflation. The survey, conducted by Harris Poll, highlights significant shifts in voter perceptions and interest in digital assets.

The survey shows that 47% of voters expect to include crypto in their portfolios, a significant increase from the 40% reported last November. Furthermore, 65% of Bitcoin owners believe that their investment is in the future of blockchain technology, while 53% see Bitcoin as a means of digital payment or global currency. Additionally, 36% view Bitcoin as a speculative investment.

Geopolitical tensions and inflation are driving interest in Bitcoin, with 41% of voters citing these factors as reasons to invest. This is a significant increase from the 34% reported in the previous poll. The survey also found that more than two in five likely voters are waiting for clearer policies and regulations before investing in crypto.

The growing interest in crypto is not limited to Bitcoin alone. The survey reveals that voters are increasingly open to investing in a broader range of crypto assets, with 47% expecting more crypto in their portfolios.

Interestingly, the survey highlights that crypto is a bipartisan issue, with similar ownership rates among Republicans and Democrats at 18% and 19%, respectively. However, Republican voters tend to view issues related to inflation and the economy as more pressing, and they are more likely to value issues related to Bitcoin and crypto.

The survey was conducted online among 1,768 adults who plan to vote in the 2024 Presidential Election between April 30th and May 2nd.
