In an exclusive interview with CNBC on June 24, renowned Bitcoin advocate and venture capitalist Anthony Pompliano emphasized Bitcoin's pivotal role in protecting wealth amassed through artificial intelligence (AI) advancements over the next decade.

Pompliano, founder of Pomp Investments, projected that Bitcoin will emerge as the preferred asset for securing the substantial wealth generated by AI technologies. "As we move into an era dominated by automation and AI, these technologies will create immense wealth, and Bitcoin will serve as a shield for preserving that wealth," Pompliano stated.

Contrary to views suggesting that AI might overshadow Bitcoin and traditional cryptocurrencies as the new technological frontier, Pompliano asserted that both AI and Bitcoin will synergize to enhance productivity and safeguard accumulated wealth. "AI's potential to boost GDP through enhanced productivity aligns perfectly with Bitcoin's role in wealth preservation," he elaborated.

Reflecting on recent market trends, Pompliano acknowledged Bitcoin's recent dip to a seven-week low of $59,086 on June 23. Market sentiments have been tempered by various factors, including Mt. Gox's plans to distribute $8.5 billion in Bitcoin to creditors and significant outflows from Bitcoin exchange-traded funds.

Despite these fluctuations, Pompliano remained unfazed, attributing the current downturn to typical market cycles observed in bullish phases. "Historically, Bitcoin often experiences corrections exceeding 30% during bull markets," Pompliano noted. He suggested that seasonal trading patterns, often subdued in the second and third quarters following halving events, might be contributing to the current market sentiment.

Looking ahead, Pompliano expressed optimism about a potential price resurgence in late 2024 or early 2025, aligning with historical trends post-halving. "We've seen this pattern before — periods of consolidation followed by strong rallies," he remarked.
