Bitdeer Technologies has unveiled the SEAL04 chip, a highly energy-efficient innovation for Bitcoin mining, as part of its SEALMINER rig's technological advancements. Scheduled for release in Q2 2025, the SEAL04 chip aims to achieve an outstanding power efficiency of 5J/TH, far below the industry norm of 29J/TH.

This chip will drive the fourth-generation SEALMINER machine, set for mass production and delivery beginning Q4 2025. By optimizing the machine's power usage to 5.5-6J/TH, Bitdeer seeks to tackle the high energy consumption issue in Bitcoin mining.

The SEAL04 chip represents a significant leap in the crypto mining sector, offering enhanced performance while reducing power consumption, which will likely lower operational costs and decrease the environmental impact for miners.

Bitdeer’s technology roadmap promotes transparency in mining, helping manage expectations for technological progress and equipment delivery, and offering data analytics on machine performance, inventory, and purchasing trends.

Before the SEAL04, Bitdeer tested the SEAL01 chip in March—a 4-nanometer Bitcoin mining chip with 18.1 J/TH efficiency—used in its Sealminer A1 rig.

The SEAL04 announcement follows Tether's agreement to buy up to $150 million worth of Bitdeer shares in a private placement. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino commended Bitdeer for its cutting-edge technologies and strong R&D, calling it one of the leading vertically integrated operators in Bitcoin mining.
