Bloomberg’s Eric Balchunas expects two key developments to broaden Bitcoin ETF access by year’s end.

The primary focus lies in the introduction of Bitcoin ETFs to mainstream advisory services, a sector yet to fully embrace them, especially among prominent wirehouse platforms managing assets valued between $7 trillion and $10 trillion.

Balchunas foresees the integration of these ETFs into such platforms in the coming months, likening this expansion to increasing product visibility in major retail settings, a move expected to drive their adoption.

Moreover, Balchunas underscores the potential role of larger investment platforms like Raymond James and LPL, as well as numerous smaller platforms, in broadening access to these ETFs. The second aspect entails the introduction of options trading based on Bitcoin ETFs, anticipated to commence by September.

In addition to these developments, Balchunas anticipates the emergence of derivative products and strategies revolving around Bitcoin ETFs. These may include structured products akin to those developed by Ark Invest, as well as leveraged ETFs and investment strategies blending Bitcoin (BTC) with other assets.

According to him, these innovations will foster the growth and diversification of the Bitcoin ETF ecosystem, enhancing its attractiveness and functionality for investors.
