Binance, the world's Largest Crypto Exchange by trading Volume took to its notification tab inside their mobile App to announce the delisting of some very popular trading pairs inside the Binance liquidity swap section. This news came at exactly 4:25am GMT+1 on Friday 15th December 2023.

The section of Liquidity Swap in the Binance App is usually where users are allowed to provide liquidity in the pools by swapping their assets to provide liquidity and earn rewards in gas fees and Bnb. This Sudden move came as a result of Binance’s periodic review of their pools in order to make it more concentrated. As reported by Binance and I quote;

‘Fellow Binancians,

In order to to ensure optimized trading experience, Binance Liquid Swap periodically reviews listed liquidity pools to concentrate liquidity, reduce slippage and provide users with better transaction prices. Based on our most recent reviews, Binance Liquid Swap will remove the following liquidity pools at 2023-12-22 04:00 (UTC).

AAVE/BTC, ADA/ETH, ADA/USDT, ARB/BTC, BCH/BTC, DOT/BTC, DOT/USDT, ETH/DAI, FIL/BTC, LINK/ETH, LINK/USDT, LTC/BNB, LTC/BTC, LTC/ETH, LTC/USDT, MANA/BTC, MATIC/USDT, SAND/BTC, SOL/BTC, SOL/USDT, UNI/BNB, UNI/BTC, VET/USDT, XRP/BNB, XRP/BTC, XRP/ETH

Users who hold positions in the above liquidity pools will automatically receive their deposited assets in their Spot wallets at 2023-12-22 04:00 (UTC)’

However, Binance urges users to note, that this action does not affect the respective coins listed on Binance for spot trades. While users can still trade on the available liquidity pools and provide liquidity, users will not be able to add liquidity into the above mentioned liquidity pools starting from 18th December 2023, 4:00 UTC. This is also not restricting users from redeeming their assets if they so choose, but should do it before 22nd December,2023 at 4:00 UTC or have their liquidity pools being calculated based on the prevailing composition ratios of the corresponding pool automatically redeemed to users on their spot wallet accounts.

It is also good to note that, this news wasn't listed anywhere on their social accounts, probably in order not to cause any market manipulative acts or maybe it's yet to be updated, but whatever the case may be, they're the most influential exchange in the world.

Some of the coins recorded a few percentage loss an hour or less from the time of the news but it is hard to tell if it was as a result of this news.
