The crypto community is witnessing a heated exchange between Cardano Founder Charles Hoskinson and Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) David Schwartz. The two prominent figures are clashing over Ripple’s current regulatory issues and the allegations surrounding the so-called "ETH Gate."

Hoskinson and Schwartz Engage in Intense Debate

Tensions have risen as Hoskinson and Schwartz debate over allegations of conspiracy within the Ethereum community and Ripple’s ongoing legal battle with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The controversy started when Hoskinson publicly addressed rumors that the Ethereum community had influenced regulatory decisions in the Ripple case by allegedly bribing the SEC to target XRP. Hoskinson dismissed these claims as baseless conspiracy theories lacking credible evidence.

In response, Schwartz questioned a potential conflict of interest involving William Hinman, the former SEC director. Schwartz implied that Hinman, with financial interests in Ethereum, might have influenced regulatory decisions in favor of Ethereum, affecting the litigation against Ripple. "Aren’t the conventional ETH Gate arguments precisely about how it came to be that the SEC drew and interpreted the line in such a way that ETH was on the good side of it and XRP was on the bad side?” Schwartz asked.

Cardano Founder Faces Backlash from XRP Community

Hoskinson then criticized Schwartz for allegedly spreading misinformation regarding the Ethereum community's influence on Ripple’s legal battle with the SEC. He clarified that he had not taken a stance on the rumors and arguments related to the ETH Gate, insisting his comments focused on the belief that someone within the Ethereum community had bribed the SEC to target XRP.

In response to Hoskinson's comments, an XRP supporter accused him of seeking sympathy rather than addressing the main issue directly. The supporter suggested that Hoskinson often portrays himself as a victim within the crypto community without changing his opinions.

Hoskinson challenged this accusation, demanding proof that a member of the Ethereum community directly influenced the legal proceedings between Ripple and the SEC. Another community member accused Hoskinson of misrepresenting the allegations made by the XRP community and criticized him for insulting the XRP community and Schwartz while adopting a "narcissistic victim" stance.

Hoskinson defended his position, asserting that the bribery allegations involving the Ethereum community and the SEC were, and always have been, conspiracy theories.
