Cardano (ADA) has finally broken its bearish streak, but the market is now bracing for a major test in June. Despite the uncertainty, ADA has managed a 2.22% growth in the Month-to-Date (MTD) period, marking a significant deviation from its historical performance.

Historically, Cardano has struggled in June, with only one positive close since 2018. In 2020, it rallied 11.9%, but the rest of the years have seen significant declines. In 2018, it dropped by 38.5%, followed by 7.4% in 2019, 23.1% in 2021, and 26.4% in 2022. The trend continued in 2023 with a 23.4% slump.

Cardano's evolution since 2018 has been marked by the introduction of smart contracts, which has defined its Decentralized Finance (DeFi) ecosystem. The Cardano DeFi market currently has a Total Value Locked (TVL) worth $319.98 million, relatively lower than its peers.

For Cardano to regain its momentum and defy the negative trend in June, a drastic change might be required. Top market analyst Alexander Legolas suggests that ADA needs to secure a Stochastic RSI cross on the weekly chart. This has been a reliable indicator in the past, with a similar cross leading to a 72% surge in price. The analyst believes this cross might be recorded soon, given ADA's oversold position over the past 49 days.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson continues to push for innovations that can boost the utility of ADA. Amid this anticipation, the market is waiting to see if Cardano can overcome its historical June slump and regain its pace.
