Cardano remained resilient against the DDoS attack, which began around block 10,487,530. Each transaction involved executing 194 smart contracts of the REWARD type and spending 0.9 ADA per transaction. This tactic aimed to overwhelm the network by filling blocks with complex transactions, intending to create a backlog and degrade performance. According to @ElRaulito_cnft, Chief Technology Officer at Fluid Token, this approach allowed the attacker to send large transactions while minimizing costs.

Philip Disarro, founder of Cardano development firm Anastasia, played a key role in mitigating the threat. His prompt public response on X seemed to influence the attacker's decision to halt their activities.

The Cardano community closely monitored the situation. Big Pey, a prominent figure in the Cardano ecosystem, reassured the community on X that the network withstood the attack without crashing, demonstrating ADA's resilience. Cardano's use of the extended Unspent Transaction Output (eUTxO) model played a crucial role in mitigating the attack's impact. Unlike account-based models used by other blockchains, the eUTxO model processes each transaction output independently, isolating potential issues introduced by the attack. This architectural choice enhances scalability and security, ensuring that malicious activity targeting one transaction does not compromise others, maintaining high throughput and reliability under stress.

Despite the attack, the ADA price remained unaffected, showing a 5% increase over the last 24 hours and trading at $0.39.
