CertiK, a prominent player in blockchain security, has launched CertiK Ventures, an initiative designed to support emerging on-chain platforms. CertiK Ventures will emphasize "security-first projects" by participating in venture capital rounds and creating ecosystem partnerships.

CertiK Ventures’ portfolio includes notable companies such as Pantera, LINE, Sei, Hashkey Capital, WEMIX, Dora Hacks, Meta Era, Playbux, Shima Capital, SevenX Ventures, Borderless Capital, and Ling Feng Capital.

CertiK Ventures will utilize CertiK’s blockchain security resources to aid its portfolio companies, facilitating the "development and deployment" of blockchain technology.

Focus on Security

Founded in 2018, CertiK is dedicated to blockchain security and has secured backing from major investors like Sequoia Capital, Goldman Sachs, Tiger Global, and Insight Partners. CertiK has identified over 60,000 vulnerabilities, including a significant $5 million flaw in the Wormhole multichain bridge. The firm has secured over $380 billion in digital assets, collaborating with over 4,500 notable blockchain projects, such as Ripple, Polygon, TON, BNB Chain, Sandbox, and Aptos.

Expanding Horizons

CertiK's initiative to support blockchain development aligns with a broader industry trend, which remains in its early stages, as noted by Trust Wallet's head of engineering, Luis Ocegueda. Ocegueda mentioned in a Cointelegraph interview that while the technology underpinning blockchain is still evolving, it has not yet been fully developed into a cohesive product or experience.
