Degen Chain, a blockchain built on Ethereum, experienced an unexpected operational disruption on Sunday, leaving users in the dark. The outage, which started at block 15524774 around 16:15, lasted for over 11 hours, causing a halt in new transaction verifications.

The consequences of the outage were far-reaching, completely crippling various decentralized applications and bridges on the Degen Chain, including Relay Bridge, DegenSwap, Mint Club, and Frogswap. As a result, users of these platforms are currently unable to perform any transactions.

Degen Chain operates on Arbitrum Orbit, which uses the AnyTrust protocol to ensure data availability and is primarily settled on Base. Syndicate, a Web3 infrastructure provider, launched Degen Chain in March, but the current outage is causing concern among users.

The uncertainty surrounding the duration and impact of the outage is palpable, with Degen Chain's total locked value (TVL) standing at $2.6 million. This situation could shake user trust and affect future investments. Interestingly, the current issues on the network have not affected the activities of the Degen token, an ERC-20 token created on Base in January 2024.
