Introduction:

The way people invest in cryptocurrency is shifting, showing some interesting trends lately. For two weeks straight, there's been a total withdrawal of $206 million from crypto investments. This move seems to be influenced by the ups and downs in the cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin and other digital currencies have seen significant drops in their value recently.

Trading Volumes in ETPs:

Trading volumes in investment products like ETPs have slightly fallen to $18 billion. What's noteworthy is that this amount, which makes up 28% of total Bitcoin trading, is lower than the 55% it was a month ago. This suggests that investors are being cautious due to uncertainties in the market. Data shows that the interest of investors in ETPs/ETFs is decreasing, likely because they expect the FED to keep interest rates high for longer than expected.

Outflows in the US:

In the US, there's a clear negative sentiment towards ETFs. $244 million has been withdrawn from existing ETFs, and there's a decline in new ETFs being issued. However, Canada and Switzerland are seeing continued entries into ETFs, with Canada receiving around $30 million in investments. Germany and Sweden, on the other hand, experienced outflows of $8.3 million and $6.7 million, respectively.

Continued Outflows in Ethereum:

Ethereum has seen a withdrawal of $34 million for the sixth consecutive week. However, there was a small recovery in multi-assets last week, with $9 million entering the market. Litecoin and Chainlink received $3.2 million and $1.7 million, respectively. Institutional investors have been putting money into Litecoin, Chainlink, XRP, Cardano, and Polkadot. Bitcoin, however, experienced an outflow of $192 million. Interestingly, fewer investors seem to view this outflow as a short-selling opportunity, as Bitcoin-focused short positions only saw an outflow of $300 thousand.
