Recently, Charles Hoskinson, the mastermind behind Cardano, ignited a conversation in the digital money world by initiating a hypothetical survey on the social networking site X (formerly known as Twitter). The survey inquired if users were in favor of witnessing an amalgamation between Cardano and Bitcoin Cash.

In the first 24 hours, the survey garnered an impressive 12,000 votes seeking community feedback on the possibility of transforming Bitcoin Cash into a Cardano Partnerchain, enhanced with Useful Proof of Work Leios, NiPoPoWs, and Ergo tech, thereby creating the fastest and most practical proof of work chain to date. Out of the respondents, a substantial 66.3% voiced their support for the proposed integration, with 8,301 votes in favor and 4,212 against.

Although Hoskinson dubbed the survey as "hypothetical," the utilization of social media platforms, like X, to gauge public sentiment and potentially influence decision-making has become increasingly prevalent, particularly since Elon Musk's involvement with the platform. Ben Scherrey, the founder and CTO of blockchain entity Biggest Lab, expressed his backing for the idea, citing a perceived natural harmony between the two chains due to their shared UTXO model, enabling high scalability and decentralization.

Despite the positive reception, the intricacies of how a partnership between Cardano and Bitcoin Cash would materialize and operate remain shrouded in uncertainty. Hoskinson's reference to a "partnerchain" suggests that Bitcoin Cash might need to be interconnected or cross-chained in some manner to function alongside the suggested upgrades, including Useful Proof of Work Leios, NiPoPoWs, and Ergo tech.

Even if the development teams of both projects manage to settle on the technical intricacies of the collaboration, garnering agreement among stakeholders and developers from both camps would be imperative. Hoskinson's dialogue on social media comes as Cardano steels itself for two significant upgrades slated for 2024. According to a recent report by Cointelegraph, the company is gearing up for the "Chang" hard fork scheduled for the second quarter of 2024, alongside a novel proof-of-stake model termed "Ouroboros Leios."

These impending advancements were hailed by Hoskinson in response to a video posted on April 7 by cryptocurrency influencer Ben "Bitboy" Armstrong, who had criticized Cardano as "dead." While the X poll acts as a barometer of community interest, any potential merger between Cardano and Bitcoin Cash would necessitate substantial technical cooperation and synchronization between the two entities.
