The founder of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson, has suggested combining with Bitcoin Cash.

This proposal asks for public feedback on incorporating Bitcoin Cash as a partner chain within the Cardano ecosystem. It was announced through an X (previously Twitter) poll.

Through the use of Ergo technology, Non-Interactive Proofs of Proof of Work (NiPoPoWs), and Useful Proof of Work Leios, Hoskinson's endeavour seeks to build what may be the fastest and most effective Proof of Work chain ever.

With this connection, Cardano which has gained notoriety for its scalability and lack of venture capital support since its founding in 2017 stands to greatly expand its possibilities.

The planned combination would push the envelope and enhance the features of the Bitcoin Cash network of what decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols can achieve.

Hoskinson’s announcement came on May 4, 2024, and has already generated considerable interest. Within a short span, the poll attracted over 12,500 participants.

The preliminary results show a strong lean towards approval, with 66.3% favoring the integration. The final decision will be revealed after six days of further voting.

Bitcoin Cash, which originated as a fork from Bitcoin, was initially championed by Roger Ver. It was designed to address some of the limitations of Bitcoin. Since then, it has been a pivotal player in enhancing blockchain functionalities, particularly in the DeFi sector.

This potential merger is viewed by many as a strategic move towards enhancing blockchain interoperability. The community’s response to the poll will play a crucial role in determining the feasibility and timing of this integration.
