He noted that the world's leading payment companies are already leveraging blockchain technology and exploring ways to expand its use. The benefits of public chains and stablecoins are becoming increasingly evident, he argued, setting the stage for widespread acceptance.

"The addressable market for stablecoins is in the billions," Allaire explained. He highlighted the potential of digital dollars on blockchains to revolutionize financial inclusion, reduce remittance costs, and facilitate seamless cross-border commerce. By the end of 2025, Allaire envisions stablecoins becoming a significant portion of the global electronic money market, valued at $100 trillion.

Allaire posed a thought-provoking scenario: "What does it look like when 10% of global economic money is stablecoins and when credit intermediation moves from fractional reserve lending to onchain credit markets?" Currently, the $162 billion stablecoin market is a mere 0.2% of the $80 trillion money market, according to World Population Review data. Circle's USD Coin (USDC), a U.S. dollar stablecoin, is a significant player in this market, boasting a market cap of $32.8 billion and ranking as the second-largest stablecoin behind Tether (USDT), according to CoinGecko data.

Allaire's bullish outlook extends beyond stablecoins. He foresees cryptocurrency adoption expanding to "billions of users" across "millions of applications" over the next decade.
