Coinbase International has expanded its roster of supported cryptocurrencies by adding perpetual futures for BOOK OF MEME (BOME), a new entrant in the meme coin arena. Launched in March by artist Darkfarms, BOME aims to carve out a niche alongside established meme coins like Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB).

The project distinguishes itself with ambitious plans to develop a comprehensive ecosystem centered around memes. This includes a meme enhancer tool, a decentralized social media platform, and a meme library free from copyright restrictions, aimed at fostering creativity within the meme community.

Following its launch, BOME saw a surge in speculative trading activity, catapulting its market capitalization to approximately $719 million, according to CoinGecko data. This places BOME among the top 10 largest meme coins by market cap, highlighting its rapid ascent within the crypto space.

In response to Coinbase's announcement, BOME and Bitcoin-based Dogecoin (DOGE) were among the few meme coins to see gains, while others like Brett (BRETT) and Bonk (BONK) faced declines amidst broader market corrections. BOME's addition to Coinbase's platform signals growing institutional interest in meme coins beyond the well-known leaders.

Coinbase's decision to list BOME perpetual futures comes alongside similar moves for other cryptocurrencies, including Notcoin (NOT). This expansion underscores Coinbase International's strategy to broaden its offerings to cater to diverse investor preferences and market demands.

Earlier this year, Coinbase's international exchange also introduced perpetual futures for dogwifhat (WIF), demonstrating its commitment to embracing innovative and emerging assets in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
