In a statement on June 26, Coinbase announced it would not facilitate the migration of assets related to the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) token merger. Instead, the exchange will continue supporting trading for Ocean Protocol (OCEAN) and Fetch.ai (FET) until further notice.

Coinbase advised users to perform migrations through their self-custodial wallets, including Coinbase Wallet, and noted that the token merger would support "all major software wallets." However, Coinbase does not support trading of SingularityNET (AGIX), another token involved in the merger, and did not comment on it in their statement.

Other exchanges have declared support for the merger. Fetch.ai announced that starting July 1, participating exchanges will close AGIX and OCEAN deposits and withdrawals while allowing FET deposits, withdrawals, and trading to continue. These exchanges will eventually delist AGIX and OCEAN, and the ASI token will launch in mid-July. Users can convert their tokens in self-custody, and exchanges will migrate spot markets from FET to ASI.

Several exchanges, including Bitfinex, HTX, Bitget, Binance, and Crypto.com, have announced timelines to halt the availability of affected tokens. Bitfinex will do so on July 2, while the others will start on July 1, with Crypto.com beginning on June 28. Most of these exchanges, except KuCoin, have announced plans to automatically merge the three tokens for users but have not provided specific dates.

The merger and the creation of the Superintelligence Alliance aim to promote the growth of decentralized AI infrastructure, challenging Big Tech's dominance. This strategy is expected to position the ASI token as the largest decentralized AI token by market cap, with the three existing tokens currently having a combined cap of $5.8 billion.
