Coinbase's analysis suggests that integrating LRTs and restaking may have challenges. The report highlights the complexities and uncertainties of restaking strategies, which could lead to mismatches between tokens and their underlying assets, potentially causing financial instability.

One major concern is the high yield expectations from actively validated services (AVS). Anticipated high returns may not match reality, disappointing investors attracted by the promise of significant rewards.

Additionally, the competition among LRT providers to offer the highest rewards might encourage risky practices like excessive restaking to attract and retain investors.

Despite these risks, the report recognizes the essential role restaking plays in Ethereum's innovation and infrastructure development.

While Ethereum's TVL, denominated in ETH, has decreased, the amount of staked ETH has grown, suggesting that the network's security could be utilized for additional purposes.
