Coinbase's Base blockchain is becoming an important player in the DeFi space. Base aims to solve the issues of high fees and network congestion on Ethereum by providing faster and more affordable transactions for DeFi users. Despite facing competition, Base has quickly established itself as a crucial part of the DeFi infrastructure.

This year, Base has experienced exceptional growth in all aspects. The number of users has increased from 2.938 million at the beginning of the year to over 6 million by April 3. Daily new user rates have also significantly risen, with an average of 8,000 new users per day in January, increasing to 40,000 in March.

Financially, Base has seen significant growth as well. The platform recorded a profit of $5.591 million and revenue of $12.775 million at the start of the year, reaching $25.149 million and $43.102 million by April 3. The total value bridged on the platform has also surged to $1.301 billion, indicating users' positive reception of Base's utility.

Base has processed a total of 149.93 million transactions since its launch last June, with users making 138.13 million of these transactions. The platform's efficiency is seen in an average of 20.4 transactions per user and 11.78 transactions per block.

The platform experienced its peak activity on March 30, with 2.39 million transactions and 458.83k users. Base's continuous growth and engagement from its users show its potential to thrive in the DeFi space, as long as it maintains security and user satisfaction.
