The Coinbase Base has become the top choice for investors in the current market. Layer 2 networks have been very active this year, even though their native tokens have been experiencing a lot of fluctuations in the market. These solutions have been consistently active since the beginning of the year. An analysis by IntoTheBlock has shown that the Base network is still the most popular choice for new investments.

Throughout this week, more than 6,500 ETH in net deposits have gone into the Base network, which is a significant increase compared to its competitors like Arbitrum and Optimism. This trend suggests that even though other Layer 2 scaling solutions are gaining interest, investors still prefer Base, possibly due to its reliable infrastructure.

Base was created by Coinbase to help expand its user base and provide faster transactions at a lower cost on the Ethereum network. In Coinbase's Q1 report, it was shown that trading volume on the Base network surpassed that of its rivals after Ethereum's Dencun upgrade. Daily trading volumes on DeFi crypto exchanges using Base exceeded $1 billion, bringing Base closer to the trading volumes of Coinbase's centralized exchange.

Since the Dencun upgrade, the Base network has seen a significant increase in daily transaction volume and revenue, surpassing other established Layer 2 networks like Optimism and Arbitrum. However, due to its popularity, the Base network has become a target for scammers, with a significant increase in scam activities since January. Scam Sniffer's data indicated that 21% of the month's total thefts came from the Base network, with almost $170,000 stolen through phishing scams.
