The HBAR Foundation has announced that Tuum Technologies is now available on MetaMask Snaps, joining the ranks of 34 other public snaps on the platform. Consensys has introduced a DID solution built on Hedera, adding to the available options on the platform.

Described as a sophisticated plugin by the HBAR Foundation, Tuum Technologies enables users to seamlessly integrate its functionality into their applications. There are no restrictions on the types or number of applications that can integrate Snap, but Tuum Technologies is expected to enhance the native capabilities of MetaMask.

Users on the Hedera Network now only require a private key and a Hedera account to access Tuum Technologies, which is available globally. This enables users to leverage the potential of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI), with access to support and a knowledge base for Identify by Tuum Technologies.

This development follows MetaMask's recent announcement of launching the open beta version of Snaps for the public, inviting interested individuals to try out the platform and provide feedback for further improvements. Snaps empower individual developers to innovate in a permissionless manner, accelerating their time to market and expanding their reach.

MetaMask ensures that Snap features are thoroughly vetted before inclusion in the AllowList, reflecting its commitment to user security. Users can access Snaps through the MetaMask Snaps Directory and personalize their Web3 experience. Firefox is anticipated to gain access to Extension v11.0 and above soon, although no specific timeline has been provided.

Developers contributing to Snaps are independent third parties, and users are encouraged to review permissions before integrating Snap functionality into their products. Snaps offer capabilities across interoperability, notifications, and transaction insights, with limited access to user information to prioritize user privacy and security.
