In the midst of waiting for higher prices in a bullish market, the holdings of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) on centralized exchanges have experienced a significant decline, according to data from Glassnode.

The quantity of Bitcoin dropped to less than 2.3 million coins, equivalent to approximately $158 billion, while Ethereum's quantity decreased to under 16 million coins, valuing less than $58 billion.

The decrease in exchange balances, which commenced prior to the July 2020 bull run, has persisted. This indicates a shift in investor sentiment, with users opting to retain their coins for the long term rather than actively engaging in trading.

This newfound assurance could be attributed to various factors. Recent market upheavals, along with escalating inflation and other financial instabilities, have heightened the appeal of alternative assets such as Bitcoin, with its capped supply, as a hedge.
