Krishna Okhandiar, the founder of Remilia and Milady, known as Charlotte Fang, has reportedly claimed to have been hacked after significant amounts of Ether (ETH) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) were transferred to a wallet engaged in asset liquidation.

The incident came to light when Dumpster DAO shared a screenshot on X (formerly Twitter), showing Okhandiar stating, "I got drained," along with a link to an address that received assets from wallets associated with Remilia. Remilia is the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) behind the popular Milady Maker NFT collection.

According to blockchain records, the implicated address has sold numerous NFTs linked to Milady, including those staked on NFTx. Furthermore, the address has transferred $1 million worth of Ether to another address and currently retains nearly $1 million in Ether and various other tokens at the time of publication.

While the precise method of the alleged hack remains unclear, blockchain security company PeckShield pointed out a prior transaction from the Remilia treasury wallet to the wallet involved in the draining, as detailed in a post on X.

This incident follows a previous controversy in September 2023, when Fang announced on X that a developer in the Milady ecosystem had managed to divert about $1 million in generated fees from Remilia Corporation. According to Fang, the attacker had taken over three X accounts, including Miladymaker and Remilionaire, while Remiliacorp was locked out.

Launched in 2021, Milady is a collection of 10,000 anime profile picture NFTs designed by Fang. The collection gained significant attention in May 2023 when Tesla CEO Elon Musk publicly endorsed Milady NFTs by posting a meme using imagery from the collection, causing the floor price of a Milady NFT to surge from 3.8 ETH to 7.8 ETH.

Hacks and exploits have been a growing concern in the crypto industry, especially for decentralized finance applications. According to a report by Immunefi, a total of $1.8 billion was lost to crypto hacks and scammers in 2023, with the North Korean Lazarus Group accounting for 17% of the losses. In February 2024 alone, hacking accounted for over $65 million (97.54%) of the stolen funds across individual incidents.
