After a hiatus of about eighteen months since his previous public announcement, Zac Prince shared news that he would be departing from the crypto industry. This decision came following the temporary halt of operations at BlockFi in the aftermath of FTX’s collapse.

On the recent Monday, Prince disclosed his plans to step away from the crypto sector. He is set to assume the position of CEO at RE Cost Seg, a company specializing in providing cost segregation studies that could potentially lead to tax savings for real estate investors. This marks Prince's first venture into a real estate-focused organization, having previously been involved in lending activities before establishing BlockFi, as indicated on his LinkedIn profile.

Despite the challenges faced by executives affected by FTX’s downfall, not all have chosen to leave the industry. Brett Harrison, former president of FTX.US, has launched a new derivatives brokerage called Architect. Additionally, Backpack, a startup led by former FTX employees, highlighted by Blockworks, has gained popularity for its wallet designed for Solana users.

Prince, whose company faced financial difficulties due to exposure to FTX, provided testimony during Sam Bankman-Fried's trial in November. During the trial, prosecutors raised questions about Prince's decision to extend loans to Alameda Research, FTX’s affiliated entity.

In another development, Anchorage Digital has appointed TuongVy Le as its general counsel. Le brings with her experience from regulatory and legal positions at Bain Capital Crypto and Worldcoin. Prior to this role, she served as a partner at Bain Capital Crypto and spent several years at the Securities and Exchange Commission where she was involved in some of the agency’s initial investigations into cryptocurrencies.
