In a promising start to June, digital asset investment products experienced a surge in inflows, totaling over $2 billion, according to CoinShares' weekly fund flows report released on June 10. This marked a significant uptick in investor sentiment, with almost all providers witnessing inflows and the five-week total reaching $4.3 billion.

CoinShares also highlighted a substantial increase in trading volumes for exchange-traded products (ETPs), reaching $12.8 billion for the first week of June, representing a notable 55% rise compared to the previous week.

The positive trend in inflows was observed across nearly all providers of crypto ETPs, a pattern described as unusual by CoinShares. The asset manager attributed this shift in sentiment to weaker-than-expected macroeconomic data in the U.S., prompting expectations of monetary policy rate cuts.

Furthermore, the favorable price action in the crypto market propelled the total assets under management (AUM) above $100 billion for the first time since March 2024.

While some providers, such as Grayscale Investments and CoinShares XBT, experienced outflows, iShares exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States emerged as the leader in inflows, attracting $948 million, followed by Fidelity ETFs with $680 million.

Notably, Ethereum-based products witnessed a remarkable week, recording a total inflow of $69 million, marking their best performance since March. CoinShares attributed this surge to the recent approval of Ether-based spot ETFs by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the United States on May 23.

In contrast, altcoin-based ETPs, such as Fantom (FTM) and XRP, saw relatively minor activities, with inflows of $1.4 million and $1.2 million, respectively. Despite this, the overall trend in crypto inflows signals a renewed investor interest and confidence in the market, driven by both macroeconomic factors and positive developments within the crypto ecosystem.
