Maple’s Syrup promises users yields of 15% by depositing Circle’s USDC stablecoin into the platform.

Institutional crypto lending firm Maple Finance has launched Syrup, a new permissionless loans platform and rewards token, targeting DeFi users with yields of 15% from fully collateralized loans to major crypto institutions. Users can deposit Circle’s USDC stablecoin and receive LP tokens (syrupUSDC), with additional yield in the form of “Drips” from the SYRUP rewards token. MPL token holders can migrate to the SYRUP token on a one-for-one basis.

Maple has maintained stability through the bear market by offering permission-only deposits from accredited investors with full KYC checks, enabling it to serve regulation-conscious institutions in the U.S. Co-founder Joe Flanagan emphasized that Syrup allows Maple to maintain its institutional focus while engaging with the broader DeFi ecosystem, offering high-quality yields to a DeFi audience.
