The cryptocurrency market saw mixed movements today, with Bitcoin (BTC) trading lower at around $60,000, while several altcoins, particularly meme coins and AI-related tokens, experienced notable gains.

Bitcoin struggled to maintain upward momentum, slipping 2.17% to $61,489. Ethereum (ETH) also followed suit, declining 0.83% to $3,374. However, Solana (SOL) bucked the trend, surging 7.59% to $135.85.

In the meme coin sector, Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) saw modest increases of 1.25% and 0.62%, respectively. Interestingly, some lesser-known meme coins like dogwifhat (WIF) and Pepe coin (PEPE) emerged as top gainers, rising 21.15% and 9.21%, respectively.

The AI-focused tokens Fetch.ai (FET) and SingularityNET (AGIX) also stood out, soaring 18.82% and 15.39%, respectively. Meanwhile, some decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens like Gnosis (GNO) and Maker (MKR) experienced declines.

Despite the mixed performance, the overall crypto market capitalization declined by 1.38% to $2.26 trillion, with the total trading volume increasing by 122.06% to $97.64 billion.
