Some days back, Changpeng Zhao (CZ) the former CEO of Binance who now has a lot of time on his hands (as he's no longer CEO) made this tweet above.

It turns out Science has really embraced the Blockchain. This tweet from CZ doesn't say much about that, but the fact is there are Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) that are just all about science, scientific research, data handling, and funding.

It is still quite a new field, and I was surprised I didn't know much about it till this tweet/interest from CZ, but hey, clearly CZ himself doesn't know much about it as he said he's just been reading about it, so...

We all probably already know how DAOs work, but a quick rundown of what they're usually about is: that they are communities of people with a common interest who come together and use Blockchain technology to organize themselves.

Their governance would be decentralized, voting would be done with Blockchain technology and stakes that have to simply do with tapping on the "vote" button. And anyone with a stake/community token can vote.

All the activities and data would be recorded on the Blockchain, and cheating would be near impossible if not outright impossible. Funding for community activities would be done using their community token/community cryptocurrency.

In this case, where science is the common interest, it becomes even more interesting and remarkable because scientific research is such a meaningful aspect of life. People coming together for this is usually not just for leisure or financial gains but for a scientific end product.

Take one of these DAOs called VitaDAO, for example, their major objective is to make products to increase human lifespan and make us live longer. They would use Blockchain technology to support this in all the ways mentioned above. Great isn't it?

Funding is one of the best parts of these, because with Blockchain technology you don't only depend on people donating or some other sort of fundraising, but you can raise a lot of funds by simply creating a token, showing how important what your community is building is, and watching the price of the tokens soar!

And with this, the tokens would fund whatever project the community is building because the community can easily access millions of tokens that are now valuable to fund their projects.

There are a good number of Science DAOs out there. Like VitaDAO already mentioned, focusing on lifespan, BioVeras focuses on scientific data handling and validation, VibeDAO focuses on treatments of rare diseases, AntidoteDAO focuses on cancer cure, HairDAO focuses on hair loss and hair treatment, etc.

This is not financial advice, but the fact remains that science and scientific missions like those listed above are great for humanity. These causes are without a doubt very likely to have the support of most human beings. And now a guy like CZ is giving some publicity to it.

With this CZ tweet, more publicity from him seems certain. I even had to read about Decentralized Science because of that tweet. Cointelegraph had to do a piece on it too. With all CZ's influence, the right eyes would be on DeSci and it might be like the days when Elon Musk was influencing the market.

With the right eyes on DeSci, their tokens can see meteoric rises. Hopefully, that's the case, and hopefully, we can put ourselves in good positions to not be left behind if such a thing happens.
