In the past 24 hours, decentralized finance platforms like Lido and Aave generated higher fees compared to leading blockchain networks such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. According to data from DeFillama, Lido accumulated $2.34 million, while Aave gathered $1.85 million, surpassing Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Solana which collected $1.84 million, $1.34 million, and $1.17 million in fees, respectively.

This fee surge signifies a preference among crypto users for these platforms over traditional blockchain networks, as explained by market observers. Aave is particularly favored by crypto investors seeking yield through DeFi lending pools, according to the Bank for International Settlement (BIS). Aave's significant adoption has prompted its developer, Aave Labs, to unveil a strategic roadmap for 2030, introducing initiatives like Aave V4 and expanded DeFi functionalities.

Additionally, Aave is considering implementing a fee switch to incentivize engagement and investment in its ecosystem. On the other hand, Lido, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), dominates the liquid staking space by offering solutions for proof-of-stake blockchain networks like Ethereum.

With around 28.5% of staked Ethereum and approximately $28 billion in total value locked, Lido is the largest DeFi protocol, although facing competition from emerging concepts like EigenLayer's restaking model.
