One of the primary goals of DeSci is to promote open access to scientific data and publications. By publishing research data and results on a blockchain, DeSci ensures that anyone can access, verify, and use this information. This transparency increases scientific progress and collaboration.

Traditional scientific research funding often involves lengthy grant applications and is usually controlled by a few large institutions. DeSci introduces new funding models, such as decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), which can pool resources from a community and allocate funds more efficiently and democratically.

The end goal of Desci is to decentralize scientific research, enhance credibility and Reproducibility, increase accessibility to funding, and promote collaboration.

The Desci field is new and still largely unexplored. Nevertheless, this is changing as more organizations advocate and set up structures to contribute to its development.
