The Dfinity Foundation, a not-for-profit and major contributor to the Internet Computer Blockchain (ICP), has introduced a "decentralized, on-chain global acceleration platform" called the Olympus Acceleration Platform. This accelerator is designed to promote the development and adoption of Web3 technology across various ecosystems.

The initiative will initially be supported by a $15 million grant from Dfinity and the ICP Asia Alliance, aimed at building a dynamic Web3 and artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem in Asia. Plans for similar initiatives in the European Union, Middle East, North Africa, Africa, and America are also in the works.

Dominic Williams, founder and chief scientist of the Dfinity Foundation, stated that the goal is to nurture next-generation projects on the ICP protocol. He emphasized:

"By creating a web3-based global platform for everyone, we can unite top talent, projects, investors, and mentors to form a credible and trustless marketplace, providing equal opportunity and access to all qualified projects. Traditional accelerator programs are permissioned and siloed, often unsustainable and dependent on grants."

The Olympus Acceleration Platform features an open stake model, allowing free interaction among projects, mentors, and investors. It also facilitates on-chain verification of key project growth metrics.

Venture capital firms participating in the program include Fenbushi Capital, Fundamental Labs, Softbank Vision Fund, Newtribe Capital, and Cypher Capital, among others.
