Privacy as an attribute in web3 and Cryptocurrency has its cons and pros. Surely most Web3 users want to be anonymous on the internet, mostly for security reasons and the desire for a private internet interaction, however, how can you trust anyone in web3 if there is no measure for trust?

Again, can there be a measure for trust without tapping into someone's identity/ privacy?

Digital Social Identity ( DSID) is a novel approach for Web3 users to prove that they are who they claim to be, their creditworthiness, and general reputation across web2 and web3. It involves the use of both self-sovereign identity and zero-knowledge proof to give a reputation to adopters of the tech, based on their on-chain activities. With this, Decentralized applications, exchanges, etc can access the reputation score of the wallet interacting with them.

The merits of this digital social identity are numerous. Firstly, privacy is never compromised because DSID is created to use Self-Sovereign identity and zero-knowledge proof onboard web2 reputation to Web3, verify that people are who they claim to be, and for the user to control whether/when to reveal their identity. Your reputation data backpack is tied to your wallet account and can be accessed, managed, and revealed by you; your keys, and your reputation.

DSID might still be a new concept but with time, users will enjoy better user experience, favorable terms, and exclusive deals based on their digital social identity. Imagine connecting your wallet to a KYC platform for an airdrop campaign and because of your reputation score, the KYC process waved for you immediately.There could also be a situation where you want to take a loan and because your DSID reflects a greater credibility score, you weren't asked to deposit a collateral. Isn't that beautiful?

We are moving forward to an era where digital identity will lead the identity sector. Its portability and security features will make digital identity stand out. DSID will sort by Dapps, exchanges, and platforms because it will help them ascertain the reputation of the individual they are dealing with.
