Mark Feygin, a Russian exiled anti-Putin activist and former lawyer for the Pussy Riot group, is facing scrutiny over the claimed auditor of his new blockchain app, Russia2024, which aims to challenge the legitimacy of Russia's recent elections. The app, built using Rarimo's "Freedom Tool," promises to allow Russians to "cast votes declaring whether the results are illegitimate or not" through a "surveillance-free voting solution" leveraging blockchain technology.

However, doubts have been raised about the claimed auditor of the Russia2024 app. In a press release shared with crypto.news, it was stated that Russia2024 "has been publicly stress-tested via audits and white hackers for two months." Furthermore, in a Telegram post, Feygin implied that Russia2024 was audited by Halborn, an international blockchain security firm known for conducting audits for various blockchain projects.

Despite these claims, crypto.news could not find any indications on Halborn's website or public channels that the firm had indeed conducted an audit for Russia2024, raising concerns about the app's transparency and data handling processes.

The evidence provided by Feygin and Rarimo, the creators of the Freedom Tool, is limited to a Notion document written in Russian and a PDF file that appears to be a draft audit for Rarimo itself, rather than the Russia2024 campaign specifically.

While the Russia2024 official website also implies that Halborn audited the application, it does not explicitly state that the blockchain firm audited the Russia2024 campaign. Rarimo's official website claims that the project was audited by Halborn and Ambisafe, but Halborn's website does not list either Rarimo or Russia2024 as clients.

In an email to crypto.news, Kitty Horlick, the director of Rarilabs, confirmed that "Rarimo and Freedom Tool was audited by Halborn," but provided no concrete evidence to support this claim beyond links to PDF versions of audits conducted by Halborn on Rarimo's GitHub.

Despite Rarimo's insistence that the project has been audited, there is currently no publicly available proof that either Rarimo or Russia2024 were actually audited by Halborn or any other reputable security firm.

This lack of transparency and verifiable evidence raises concerns about the security and reliability of the Russia2024 app, which aims to handle sensitive voting data from Russian citizens challenging the legitimacy of their country's elections.
