Decentralized finance (DeFi) platform dYdX finds itself embroiled in an unexpected technical hiccup following a scheduled upgrade of its chain on April 8. The protocol, known for its innovative approach to decentralized trading and financial products, encountered a halt in block production, prompting an extensive investigation into the root cause of the disruption.

Confirming the outage on its mainnet, dYdX released a statement acknowledging the issue and assuring users that ecosystem engineers are actively engaged in debugging efforts to swiftly resolve the issue. However, despite concerted efforts, the disruption has persisted since 6:50 a.m. UTC, with no immediate fix in sight, according to an incident report released by the protocol.

The unexpected pause in block production comes in the wake of a scheduled protocol upgrade announced by dYdX, which aimed to introduce several advancements to its infrastructure.
