I'm thrilled to share that several asset managers have submitted updated proposals for Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), aiming for a launch in the first week of July.

On June 21, VanEck, BlackRock, Grayscale, and Invesco Galaxy Digital all filed revised S-1 Registration Statements after the markets closed. Earlier that day, Fidelity also submitted a new S-1 form.

VanEck’s filing disclosed a 0.20% management fee for its Ethereum fund, which is competitive with Franklin Templeton’s 0.19% fee. BlackRock has yet to announce the management fee for its iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA). Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas commented that VanEck’s fee puts "a touch of pressure on BlackRock to stay under the 30bps at least."

These revised filings follow previous amendments submitted over the past weeks. The S-1 approval is one of the final steps before these funds can debut on Wall Street exchanges. Balchunas predicts that the funds will launch in the first week of July, just in time for the U.S. Independence Day holiday.

In May, the SEC approved a rule change that allows major asset managers to list and trade eight spot Ether ETFs, including those from VanEck, BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, Franklin Templeton, ARK 21Shares, Invesco Galaxy, and Bitwise.

Fidelity's updated filing revealed a $4.7 million seeding at $38 per share by FMR Capital, an affiliate. Bitwise also updated its proposal on June 19, including a potential $100 million investment from Pantera Capital at the ETF’s launch.

Additionally, Hashdex is seeking regulatory approval for a new ETF that combines spot Bitcoin and Ether. A few weeks ago, Hashdex decided to abandon its plans to launch an ETF dedicated solely to Ether.

All eyes are on the first week of July for the official launch of these Ether ETFs, marking a significant milestone for the crypto and investment communities.
