According to data from CryptoQuant, approximately 797,000 Ether has exited exchanges between May 23 and June 2, representing a staggering $3.02 billion. This mass exodus from exchanges is indicative of a potential impending supply crunch, as investors increasingly opt for self-custody solutions, reducing the available supply for immediate sale.

Ether's Exchange Reserves Plummet to Historic Lows

Further emphasizing this trend, Glassnode data, as highlighted by BTC-ECHO analyst Leon Waidmann, reveals that the percentage of circulating Ether supply held on exchanges has dwindled to a mere 10.6%, the lowest level observed in years. This dwindling supply on exchanges underscores a broader movement towards securing digital assets in personal wallets, away from the custodial risks associated with centralized platforms.

Ethereum ETFs Pave the Way for Price Surges

With the imminent launch of Ether ETFs, analysts anticipate a surge in demand that could propel Ethereum's price to new heights. Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas has suggested that Ether ETFs could potentially debut by late June, sparking renewed investor interest in the cryptocurrency.

Drawing parallels to the meteoric rise of Bitcoin following the introduction of spot Bitcoin ETFs earlier this year, many believe that Ether's price could soar past its previous all-time high of $4,870 set in November 2021. Notably, Ethereum may benefit even more from demand pressures than Bitcoin, as it lacks the same structural sell pressure associated with mining operations.

Grayscale's Ethereum Trust: A Potential Market Influencer

However, concerns linger regarding the impact of Grayscale's Ethereum Trust (ETHE), which manages a substantial $11 billion in funds. Observers fear that ETHE could exert downward pressure on Ether's price, mirroring the outflows witnessed by the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) following its approval.
