The Ethereum Foundation plans to implement a conflicts of interest policy, according to executive director Aya Miyaguchi's statement on May 24th. This decision follows community concerns regarding the relationship between the foundation and EigenLayer developers.

In the week leading up to Miyaguchi's announcement, two Ethereum researchers accepted paid advisory roles at EigenFoundation. Justin Drake disclosed his appointment on May 19th, stating he would receive significant incentives but pledged to reinvest them in the Ethereum ecosystem. Dankrad Feist followed suit the next day, revealing he received a substantial amount of tokens. Both emphasized that their positions were personal and not representative of the Ethereum Foundation. While some praised the transparency, others had mixed reactions. ZkSecurity co-founder David Wong commended Drake's transparency but questioned whether they deserved such individuals.
