Base, a recent addition from Coinbase, has swiftly gained attention by handling nearly 2.48 million transactions daily. This figure significantly surpasses Optimism’s 0.55 million transactions, highlighting Base’s robust capacity for large-scale operations and rapid transaction confirmations.

Arbitrum stands out with the highest total transaction value, processing an impressive $3.66 billion daily. This dominance is driven by numerous high-value transactions, particularly those between $100,000 and $1 million. However, the sheer volume of these transactions has raised questions about their origins and flow.

The active address count across these networks is dense, with approximately 530,000 for Optimism, 548,000 for Base, and 528,000 for Arbitrum, reflecting a vibrant and healthy ecosystem vital for sustained growth.

Layer 2 solutions on Ethereum are gaining traction due to their significantly lower transaction fees compared to the mainnet. This advantage attracts retail users and enables developers to create more complex protocols without the high costs associated with gas fees.

Arbitrum and Optimism initially surged in transactions and liquidity due to airdrops to early adopters, propelling their token market valuations above $1 billion. Although Base has not announced any airdrops, its integration with the Coinbase wallet offers easy access to decentralized finance, further democratizing blockchain technology.
