Justin Drake, a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, is joining EigenLayer as an advisor. EigenLayer is a popular restaking protocol that has seen significant growth in recent months due to increased interest in the restaking space. As an advisor, Drake will support EigenFoundation, the organization behind the cryptocurrency project.

Drake recently took to social media to explain why he took on the advisory role. He stated that he felt he had done "very little in liquid staking and was very late." His new role will require him to take risks again. Drake also denied accusations that EigenLayer had bribed the Ethereum Foundation (EF). He pointed out that with over 300 employees, it was impossible for the restaking protocol to influence the Foundation.

According to DeFiLlama data, EigenLayer has reached a total locked value (TVL) of 15 billion dollars. This puts it in a good position compared to its competitors like Symbiotic. Drake will receive millions of dollars' worth of tokens as an advisory fee from EigenLayer. He has promised to invest or donate all of his earnings to valuable projects within the Ethereum ecosystem.
