As Africa continues to embrace this emerging technology, several pioneers are at the forefront, passionately spearheading the spread of web3 through education across the continent.

Just a few among several others are:

Oluchi Enebeli (Nigeria)

Oluchi is known as the first female blockchain developer in Nigeria. Founded the Web3Ladies community; an initiative designed to train women with Blockchain skills.

Web3Ladies began in August 2020 and has further gone to train over 1,000+ women, in over 3 cohorts. In their words, “We are focused on raising the next generation of female disruptors in the Web3 ecosystem by equipping them with sought-after relevant Blockchain skills”

The community has partnered with popular Blockchains like Polygon and Celo to organize hackathons and cohorts.

Oluchi has previously worked with Binance, Crypto.com, Bundle, and Nestcoin, and is currently with Liquidity

Ayodeji Awosika (Nigeria)

Ayodeji is a Blockchain researcher and advocate. After managing a web3 product that crashed 30 minutes after launched, it inspired him to build a platform where people could be trained in development skills

Ayodeji is the founder of Web3Bridge.

Web3Bridge is a platform that trains both beginner and intermediate developers on web3 skills. The community has held over 30 hackathons and partnered with 10+ universities

Marcel lorraine (Kenya)

Marcel, formally an entrepreneur and event planner, first heard about Bitcoin in one of the events she organized, thereafter her journey into Bitcoin began.

Marcel founded Bitcoin Dada

Bitcoin Dada is a women-centric entity equipping women with Bitcoin knowledge, through online classes, meetups, and career development; with the goal of financial empowerment for women and matching the gender representation.

Faizah Naserian (Kenya)

Faizah has a background in medical biochemistry; but discovered web3 through her love for emergent technologies.

After experiencing a major loss in cryptocurrencies, she made a decision to learn more about web3 and share her knowledge publicly. This act birthed her community called Crypto HubKE. In a YouTube interview, she shared her transitioning story into the web3 space

Crypto HubKE is a community that empowers people with adequate knowledge to navigate the web3 space and boost career growth and opportunities.

These pioneers are ensuring that Africa doesn't just benefit, but also contribute to the development of web3.
