For the fourth week in a row, Ethereum-based cryptocurrency investment products experienced negative outflows, despite the positive inflows observed in other crypto-based investment vehicles.

According to a report by CoinShares released on April 8, Ethereum witnessed outflows totaling $22.5 million last week, contrasting with the positive inflows seen in most other top altcoins.

The report highlighted that digital asset investment products overall continued to attract positive sentiment, with inflows reaching $646 million for the week. Year-to-date inflows have reached a record high of $13.8 billion, surpassing the $10.6 billion seen in 2021.

Despite Ethereum's negative outflows, several other top altcoins recorded positive inflows. Litecoin saw weekly inflows of $4.4 million, followed by Solana with $4 million and Filecoin with $1.4 million.

Over the 24-hour period leading up to 11:45 am UTC, the price of Ether rose by 6.8%, reaching $3,625. While Ethereum saw a 2.3% increase over the week, it experienced an 8.2% decline over the past month, as per CoinMarketCap data.

Solana, often hailed as a potential "Ethereum killer" due to its scalability and high transaction throughput, has also outperformed Ether. Solana's native token surged by 24% over the past month, while Ether declined by over 6.2%, according to TradingView data.

However, CoinShares noted signs indicating a potential decline in investor appetite for exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Despite the substantial weekly inflows into digital asset investment products, ETF investor interest may be waning, with weekly flow levels not reaching those seen in early March. Additionally, volumes for the week declined to $17.4 billion, compared to $43 billion in the first week of March.

Since the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs in January, these funds have accumulated over 834,000 Bitcoin, totaling $60.4 billion in on-chain holdings. This represents 4.24% of the current Bitcoin supply, according to data from Dune.

Furthermore, short Bitcoin investment products experienced outflows for the third consecutive week, amounting to $9.5 million. This suggests a potential "minor capitulation" among bearish investors, as per CoinShares.
