It's been a while since we last discussed FriendTech, a pioneering social finance platform that allows users to support their favorite creators by purchasing keys, granting exclusive content and chats. Despite facing hype and subsequent decline, FriendTech remains the largest SoFi platform by total value locked.

Its launch on Base last summer further boosted its growth, peaking at over 500,000 daily transactions and 70,000 addresses buying keys. However, the hype eventually faded, and daily transactions dwindled to under 40,000 by October.

Recently, FriendTech has seen a resurgence in activity, with tens of thousands of transactions daily. The anticipation surrounding the v2 launch and token airdrop has reignited user interest. Initially scheduled for April 29, the launch was delayed to May 2, allowing creators to share airdrops with keyholders. Although points are no longer being distributed, the airdrop's community-focused approach, allocating 100% of tokens to users, has garnered praise.

Despite some backlash due to delays and claiming difficulties, FriendTech's innovative approach and dedication to user control have revitalized its presence in the social finance space.
