FTX Influencer Allegedly Harassing Lawyers in Class-Action Suit

Lawyers representing a class-action lawsuit against FTX influencer "BitBoy Crypto," also known as YouTuber Ben Armstrong, for allegedly promoting the crypto exchange FTX, claim Armstrong has made multiple threats against them. Armstrong has denied all allegations of threatening the lawyers.

Allegations of Harassment

In a March 20 court filing in a Florida District Court, the class action’s lawyers claimed Armstrong began harassing them after the suit was filed on March 15, with “endless phone calls, tweets, and emails,” and “insulting and threatening posts on Twitter, YouTube, and other social media.” The filing alleged that Armstrong made up to 21 calls within a 45-minute period, leaving voicemails full of vulgarities specifically targeting the lawyers.

Threats Via YouTube

The filing also mentioned a YouTube video posted by Armstrong on March 16, allegedly directed at the lawyers and those involved in the lawsuit, warning them that he was "coming at them with full force" and encouraging others to join the attacks.

Previous Controversy

The court filing noted that this is not the first time Armstrong has caused "threatening controversy." Previously, he filed and later dropped a defamation suit against fellow YouTuber Erling Mengshoel Jr., known as "Atozy." Armstrong sued Mengshoel in August 2022 over a November 2021 video titled "This YouTuber scams his fans…Bitboy Crypto," which accused Armstrong of promoting assets dishonestly for personal gain. Armstrong dropped the lawsuit after Mengshoel raised over $200,000 for his defense in less than 24 hours, declaring in a livestream that "Atozy has won."
