Galxe, a platform for Web3 credentials and rewards, plans to launch a new Layer 1 blockchain called Gravity.

Gravity will streamline cross-chain interactions by using zero-knowledge proofs for efficient verification, according to a statement.

The blockchain will support multi-chain asset management and simplify cross-chain transaction settlements.

As a proof-of-stake blockchain, Gravity will be compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and will use Reth as its execution layer alongside the Jolteon (AptosBFT) consensus algorithm. It will be integrated into Galxe’s existing products, including Quest, Compass, Passport, and the Galxe Identity Protocol, to leverage its extensive user base.

The deployment of Gravity will take place in two phases. The alpha mainnet, built with the Arbitrum Nitro stack, is set to launch in June 2024 for initial testing. A fully operational mainnet is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2025.

In 2022, Galxe raised $10 million in funding from Multicoin Capital and Dragonfly Capital.
