Imagine a world where your in-game sword can fetch real cash, or where voting rights decide the fate of your favorite game. Believe it or not, these features already exist in blockchain gaming, yet a recent survey exposes a surprising truth: most US gamers haven't even heard of them.

Onepoll.com's survey of 2,000 US gamers revealed a vast knowledge gap. A whopping 84% (52% never heard of them, 32% heard of them but haven't played) remain blissfully unaware of blockchain gaming's potential. This is despite the fact that 63% of respondents crave refunds for in-game purchases if a game shuts down, a problem blockchain games can solve through ownership of digital assets.

The survey also highlights the significant investment gamers make in virtual items, averaging a staggering $6,425.13 over their lifetime. Imagine that investment holding real value, transferable and tradable beyond the confines of a single game. That's the power of blockchain.

This lack of awareness isn't surprising. Unstoppable Games, who commissioned the survey alongside their new Starknet-based game "Influence," acknowledges the need for better education. "The industry needs to do a better job explaining how blockchain games empower players," says Chris Lexmond, Unstoppable Games' CEO.

The survey serves as a wake-up call. While gamers yearn for ownership and control over their virtual worlds, a vast treasure trove of these features lies hidden in plain sight. It's time to bridge the knowledge gap and unlock the true potential of blockchain gaming for the mainstream audience.
