DNS functions as a naming database translating readable addresses into unique IP addresses. Similarly, ENS converts complex wallet addresses into human-readable names, enhancing domain ownership with GoDaddy’s reliability and ENS’ advanced blockchain infrastructure.

Although domain name migration to ENS has been possible, high gas fees hindered a smooth transition. ENS addressed this issue by implementing new smart contracts at the DNS top-level domain (TLD) to streamline the resolution process of ENS domain names, offering free legitimacy checks for DNS records.
