There’s a buzz in the crypto community about Google allegedly investing in XPMarket, a platform on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) focusing on GameFi and DeFi. Financial market reporter Zach Rector hinted on X that Google had made a significant investment in XPMarket. This speculation was sparked by a previous announcement from XPMarket about receiving funds from Google.

However, the details reveal that XPMarket received a $200,000 grant from Google for Startups, not a direct investment. Google for Startups, launched in 2011, aims to support budding entrepreneurs and has invested over $50 million in various businesses. Grants provided by this program are meant to aid startups but do not equate to direct investments in these companies. Thus, Rector's statement about Google investing in XPMarket might have been premature.

This news has had a positive impact on XRP, which saw a 0.89% increase in the last 24 hours, bringing its current trading price to $0.5233.

In addition to the financial grant, XPMarket will also benefit from the Google for Startups Cloud Program, which offers technology and community network resources. This support is designed to help Web3.0 companies focus on innovation rather than infrastructure, assisting in the development of new decentralized applications and tools.

It’s important to note that XPMarket is not the only Web3.0 platform to receive this grant. In February, NFPrompt also partnered with Google for Startups Cloud to enhance AIWeb3 innovation using Google Cloud's advanced technology and expertise.

Meanwhile, the XRP Ledger (XRPL) has seen numerous developments. Recently, Ripple signed a strategic partnership with Evmos, an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chain, to create an EVM sidechain for XRPL. This partnership aims to integrate XRPL into a network of over 90 interconnected chains, bringing new applications and liquidity.

Additionally, Ripple announced a collaboration with Hashkey DX, the Tokyo branch of HashKey Group, to expand XRPL-powered solutions in the Japanese market.
