Grayscale Investments, the world's largest crypto asset manager, has named Peter Mintzberg as its new CEO, starting August 15, 2024, succeeding Michael Sonnenshein, who resigned after ten years to pursue other interests.

Sonnenshein led Grayscale's growth from $60 million to about $30 billion in assets under management and secured a significant legal victory against the SEC, allowing the listing of the first Bitcoin ETF on NYSE Arca. Mintzberg, with over 20 years of experience at major asset management firms, joins Grayscale during a pivotal moment in the crypto market.

Despite recent outflows from its ETFs, Grayscale aims to continue expanding its investment offerings under Mintzberg's leadership. In the interim, CFO Edward McGee will serve as the principal executive officer until Mintzberg assumes his role in August.
