Crypto asset manager Grayscale Investments has introduced two new investment trusts, the Grayscale Near Trust and the Grayscale Stacks Trust, offering investors diversified exposure to emerging digital assets. These trusts opened on May 23, enabling both individual and institutional accredited investors to participate in daily subscriptions.

The Grayscale Near Trust focuses exclusively on NEAR, the native token supporting the Near Protocol, while the Grayscale Stacks Trust invests solely in STX, a token integral to the Bitcoin Layer 2 solution, Stacks. This initiative aims to provide investors with targeted exposure to specific, high-potential segments of the crypto ecosystem.

Rayhaneh Sharif-Askary, Grayscale’s Head of Product & Research, highlighted the motivation behind these new offerings. "With continued demand for diversified crypto asset exposure, Grayscale remains committed to launching new products that enable investors to access emerging and evolving parts of the crypto ecosystem," she said. "By creating distinctive solutions to address blockchain’s scalability challenges, Stacks and Near are poised to help foster greater adoption—ultimately helping to drive the crypto ecosystem forward."

Grayscale is renowned for its flagship product, the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), which remains one of the largest crypto funds by assets under management (AUM). As of May 23, GBTC held $20.08 billion in assets, according to The Block's Data Dashboard.

On the same day, NEAR was trading at $7.93, while STX was valued at $2.044, reflecting the market’s positive reception of these tokens. The launch of the new trusts aligns with Grayscale’s broader strategy to expand its product portfolio and cater to the growing investor interest in diversified crypto investments.

In addition to the launch of these trusts, Grayscale’s prospects for introducing an Ethereum ETF have significantly improved. On May 20, Bloomberg's senior ETF analysts increased their prediction for the approval of ether ETFs by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from 25% to 75%, signaling a substantial shift in the regulatory landscape.

Grayscale took proactive measures to enhance its chances of approval by refiling its ether ETF submission on May 21, specifically removing mentions of staking. This strategic adjustment is aimed at aligning the application with regulatory expectations and increasing the likelihood of approval.
