A well-known company that manages crypto assets, Grayscale, has taken out two popular digital currencies, Cardano and Cosmos, from its diversified funds as part of its routine balancing process.

According to an announcement on April 4, the company disclosed that it excluded Cardano from its Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund (GDLC) and Cosmos’s ATOM token from the Grayscale Smart Contract Platform Ex-Ethereum Fund (GSCPxE).

The decision to remove Cardano and Cosmos was influenced by the rebalancing of industry indices by CoinDesk. Grayscale clarified that the assets and their weightings in each fund change according to their methodologies.

As a result, the Cardano assets in GDLC were sold, and the funds were reinvested in other components according to their weightings. The current GDLC fund comprises more than 70% Bitcoin, 21.84% Ethereum, 4.52% Solana, and less than 3% in XRP and Avalanche.

Similarly, Cosmos was withdrawn from GSCPxE, and the money was used to buy other components based on their proportions. The fund now consists of 58.4% Solana, 14.56% Cardano, 12.25% Avalanche, 8.53% Polkadot, and 6.25% Polygon.

No new tokens were added or removed from the DeFi Fund, which includes 48% Uniswap, 20.41% MakerDAO, and 13.17% Lido. Aave has 9.99% of the funds, and Synthetix has 7.69%.

ADA and ATOM have experienced significant declines recently, in line with the struggles of the crypto market. Bitcoin and Ethereum, the top two digital currencies, saw losses of 0.61% and 3.66%, respectively.

Similarly, Cardano’s ADA and Cosmos’s ATOM decreased by around 4% to $0.56 and $10.7, respectively, continuing their downward trend from the past month. Other large-cap assets like Solana and Avalanche’s AVAX also saw losses of more than 5%.
